Why You Should Cook Your Turkey Upside Down This Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is finally upon us, and if you want one thing to turn out perfectly when it comes to your dinner, it’s the turkey. It’s extremely easy to overcook a turkey, or worse, to not cook it enough. This genius method for cooking a turkey may sound a little unconventional, but it’ll ensure that your turkey is moist and perfectly cooked throughout the entire bird.
To make upside down turkey, you will need:
1 fresh turkey (approximately 18 pounds)
1 unsliced loaf of bread
1 stick of unsalted butter
2 tablespoons of salt
2 teaspoons of black pepper
Spice blend (optional)
Basically, this method involves cutting a loaf of bread in half and using it to line the roast pan. Then, you place the turkey upside down on top of the bread. You’ll flip the turkey throughout the cooking period to ensure that it cooks evenly and most importantly, stays moist.
