When I think of decadent things, oysters, fancy desserts, and champagne all come to mind. Well, what if I told you a cake recipe exists in the world that combines those last two things? Because let’s face it – no one wants to see oysters turned into dessert. Anyways, Melissa of the blog My Cake School created this delicious cake recipe, and I can’t wait to try my hand at it.

When I say this recipe is sweet, I mean it. Instead of making cake mix from scratch, you can simply use a box of white cake mix to save a few steps. In addition to your traditional cake ingredients, this recipe also calls for strawberry jello, champagne, and finely sliced strawberries.

It would be remiss of me not to mention that this recipe also features a sweetened whipped cream filling for between the cake layers, as well as a champagne buttercream to use as frosting. Not only is this cake exceptionally sweet and decadent, but it’s also extremely pretty. Almost too pretty to eat, but that won’t stop me from eating a slice (or three!).
