No one likes to talk about toilets, but we’re definitely going to today. Depending on where you live, your house may have lots of hard water running through the pipes. Even with a water softener, hard water can leave nasty, orange-hued stains, especially on ceramic and porcelain surfaces, like your toilet. Fortunately, there is a simple way to remove those unsightly stains, and all you need is one simple household product.

All you need to remove hard water stains from your toilet bowl is distilled white vinegar. For the best results, remove the water from your toilet bowl using a cup or small bucket, then pour the vinegar into the toilet bowl. Be sure you pour in enough vinegar so that it covers the hard water ring. Let the vinegar sit for two to three hours, then use a toilet wand to scrub at the toilet bowl.
