If there’s one thing I’ve learned as I’ve gotten older, it’s that the housing market is astronomically expensive. When we bought our first home, prices were fairly reasonable. But over time, the price of an average two-story home has completely skyrocketed. And so, people are getting a little bit creative as a result! There’s a new trend in living, and it consists of people purchasing prefab sheds and turning them into super cute homes.
There’s a shed available for purchase at Home Depot called The Tuff Shed TR-1600. This is such a popular shed-turned-home because it already consists of two stories, and so it can easily be turned into a small home. The Tuff Shed ranges from about $13,000 to $24,000, making it a fraction of the cost of your typical home. Even before completing the interior finishes, it’s still so much less expensive than the average home.
These sheds are pretty nice-looking, and it’s quite easy to plop the shed on a concrete foundation and add on a cute little front porch. These homes would be perfect for a vacation home, rental, or even a full-time house for a small family. Customize it however you want – at the end of the day, these homes are such an affordable option with a bit of creativity.
