Mom Bakes Son An Amazon Delivery Box Birthday Cake In Reference To His Shopping Habit

Nina Evans Williams is a professional baker from Wales who knew exactly what she was going to bake for her son’s 24th birthday. Nina’s son, Kane, has been doing a lot of online shopping via Amazon since the pandemic has forced the closure of many stores, and people are staying home more. And so, Nina got to work creating a birthday cake replicating an Amazon delivery box that is so realistic-looking, it almost had me fooled.

Nina banned Kane from visiting her bake shop for two days prior to his birthday to ensure that his cake would be a surprise. She spent an entire day baking the four-layer 15″ by 10″ cake, and another day completing the icing and other decorative touches. She even served the cake on a “brick slab” tray!

“He came into the [shop] and I said there was a boring parcel for him on the table,” explained Nina. “And when he got closer, he was like ‘Oh my god!’” The cake looks exactly like a parcel from Amazon you’d find on your doorstep. Although it looks like it was made from cardboard, the cake was made from chocolate, raspberry jam, and buttercream. Delicious!
