How To Make Your Own Laundry Detergent With Just 3 Ingredients
I don’t know about you, but I feel like I’m doing laundry every second of every day. With a husband, two kids, myself, and our dog, it feels like the piles of laundry just never end. And to make matters worse, laundry detergent tends to be so darn expensive! Because we go through so much laundry detergent, I figured there was probably a way I could make my own. And fortunately for me (and for you!), I was correct.
Natural Living Ideas shared their recipe for all-natural, three-ingredient laundry detergent. Yup – all you need is three ingredients! In addition to savings lots of money on laundry detergent each year, you’ll be able to rest assured that you’re not washing your family’s laundry with chemical-filled detergent.
To make this simple detergent, you will need one bar of Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap (use whatever scent you’d like), two cups of washing soda (a natural laundry booster), and two cups of Borax. Use a cheese grater to grate the entire bar of Castile soap. Pour all three ingredients into a large container, then shake to combine.
And that’s it! So simple, right? You can use about 1/4 cup of homemade detergent per load of laundry, though you’ll likely want to use a bit more if it’s a bigger load. Now that you know this awesome recipe, you’ll be able to save money, clean your laundry effectively, and feel confident that you’re doing so with all-natural products. Now, get to that pile of laundry you’ve been procrastinating doing!
