There are few better feelings than a completely clean and tidy kitchen. Unfortunately, that’s just not the reality in my home most of the time. However, I have created a list of cleaning chores and I’m starting with the biggest space – the kitchen. I’m doing a deep clean of each appliance, so I started searching for easy ways to clean the oven. And I stumbled upon a cleaning hack that involves virtually no effort and will leave the inside of your oven sparkling clean.

According to The Family Handyman, all you need to do is fill an oven-safe dish or pan with water. Set the oven to 450 F and place the dish of water on the middle rack for 20 minutes to an hour. The steam generated by the water will loosen up the buildup of grease, grime, and stuck-on food in your oven.

Once the oven has cooled off, remove the dish of water and use a damp cloth the wipe the condensation from the walls, bottom, and door of the oven. You can use a scrub brush if stubborn spots remain. Some people also add some distilled vinegar to their water for some extra cleaning power.
