How To Build A Fold-Down Greenhouse

I’ve really gotten into gardening in recent years and I must say, there’s nothing quite like growing your own herbs and vegetables. The only downside is dealing with the often-volatile weather – some plants just don’t flourish due to the elements. However, I recently stumbled upon a project that can help protect your plants and get them to grow big and strong that I wanted to share with you all.

Bonnie Plants shared a great tutorial for building a DIY fold-down greenhouse. Not only does this inexpensive and simple greenhouse protect your plants from frost and other harsh weather, but it also creates that warm, humid environment that plants do so well in. You can build it off the side of your house, shed, or any other stable wall and fold it up or down as needed.

The material list is comprehensive and all of the materials are very affordable. In fact, there’s a good chance you already have many of these items on hand already. If you had a friend help you, this project would only take an hour or two. It might take you longer on your own, but it’s still a totally doable project you can work away on over a weekend or a few nights a week.

If there are certain varieties of plants you really want to flourish, or maybe you just want to expand your growing season, this would be a great project to undertake. The nice part is that this fold-down structure is completely removable, so if you ever move, you can simply take it down and reinstate it in the new location. I’m definitely going to add this DIY to my never-ending list of home improvement projects!
