Have you ever gone to cook or bake something, only to find that you’re missing a key ingredient? This has happened to me more times than I can count, and it often involves me giving up on the recipe altogether. Thankfully, this doesn’t need to be the case! There are many effective ingredient substitutions that can help save a recipe, should you find yourself missing a few pantry staples.

For instance, did you know that you can easily substitute sour cream for plain Greek yogurt and baking soda? Or that a banana is an excellent substitution for an egg? To help you with these substitutions, check out this handy dandy substitution chart:
