Don’t Throw Out Bacon Grease – You Can Use It For More Flavorful Cooking
Do you have a friend or family member who always seems to be coming up with these great, helpful ideas? Heck — maybe even you’re that person! I’m always in awe of the ways in which certain people’s minds work, and the hack we’re about to show you is no exception.
Kathy Dickerson took to Facebook to share her genius bacon grease hack. When she has leftover bacon grease, she lets it cool before pouring it in an empty styrofoam egg carton. She then places the egg carton in the freezer. Once the grease becomes frozen, she removes the “cubes” from the carton and puts them in a plastic bag before returning them to the freezer. She explains that you’ll have bacon grease cubes for future use that you can use as seasoning!
There’s no need to explain why this simple hack is so brilliant. We don’t always have bacon grease on hand, and sometimes we need a small amount of it to add some flavor to a dish. If you’ve ever made breakfast potatoes using leftover bacon grease, you don’t need me to tell you how delicious they are!
