Tomatoes are one of my favorite types of produce to eat all year long. However, one downside to tomatoes is that they seem to go bad extremely quickly. If you want your tomatoes to stay fresh for as long as possible and taste better, there are two things you need to keep in mind.

1. Don’t Store Them In The Fridge

For my entire life, I’ve been storing tomatoes in the fridge. However, tomatoes should actually be stored at room temperature. Keeping them in the fridge will cause them to lose flavor.

2. The Stem Rule

Whether you decide to store your tomatoes in the pantry or on the counter, you should always store them with their stems facing down. This prevents air from entering and moisture from leaving the fruit (where it was originally attached to the vine).

By following these two extremely simple rules, you’ll be able to keep your tomatoes as fresh and flavorful as possible! Big thanks to PureWow for sharing these awesome, little-known tips.
