When it comes to cleaning my home, I try to tackle the job one room at a time. Cleaning can be super overwhelming, especially with the chaos of daily life. However, there are a number of cleaning shortcuts that can help you combat the mess in a fraction of the time. Here they are!

1. Baking Soda And Vinegar

Baking soda and vinegar is an amazing combination, especially when it comes to your oven. If you have a glass-top oven covered in gunk, sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over it. Then, spray some distilled vinegar on top. Let the solution sit for about 30 minutes, then wipe off with a damp cloth.

2. Dryer Sheets

Dryer sheets are great tools for cleaning dirty, scuffed baseboards. Just swipe a dryer sheet along your baseboards and they’ll look good as new!

3. Olive Oil

There’s no need for stainless steel wipes if you have olive oil. Just apply a small drop or two to a cloth and use it to wipe off fingerprints and gunk from stainless steel appliances.

4. Lemon Water

To clean and disinfect your microwave, fill a small bowl with water, some sliced lemons, and a splash of distilled vinegar. Microwave the solution for about five minutes. When the time’s up, the food residue will be softened and far easier to wipe clean.

5. Mayonnaise

Sick of looking at those white water or heat rings that stain wood tables? Just apply some mayonnaise to the mark, then cover it with plastic wrap. Let it sit overnight, and in the morning, all you’ll have to do is wipe the mayonnaise off.

6. Dish Soap

If your blender is starting to become kind of gross, add a drop or two of dish soap and some warm water to it. Then, put it on the pulse setting a few times before rinsing well. This will take care of any stuck-on food in hard-to-reach places.

7. Lemon And Salt

Food can seep through the grain on wooden cutting boards, making them full of bacteria. To clean yours, put some coarse salt all over the board. Cut a lemon in half, and use the inside fruit part to scrub the salt into the board. Then, simply rinse!
