Grandma’s Chocolate Pie

source: Forgotten Way Farms

I’m a sucker for anything that brings about a wave of nostalgia, specifically when it comes to food. My grandmother was an avid baker, and I have wonderful memories of being with her in the kitchen helping, and sometimes just watching and chatting. One of my favorite things she made was chocolate pie, and many of you may have also grown up eating this recipe (or a very similar one!). I decided to share her recipe, which isn’t much of a secret, as many chocolate pie recipes are pretty much the exact same.

Directions:

Step 1: One at a time, mix all of the ingredients together in a pan.

Step 2: Place the pan on the stove on medium heat, stirring consistently until the mixture thickens. This may take 10 to 15 minutes, so you’ll have to be patient!

Step 3: When the solution has thickened, pour it over top of the pie shell.

Step 4: Place the pie in the fridge until it has set and cooled. Once cooled, feel free to top with whipped cream, berries, chocolate shavings, or anything else you like!

And that’s it! This simple recipe involving few ingredients is absolutely delicious, and will leave you with the perfect chocolate pie that’s bound to become a family favorite. Enjoy!
