How To Make Soft, Fluffy Bread With Just 2 Ingredients

source: Merry About Town
If there’s one thing I know to be true about the COVID-19 situation we’re all living in right now, it’s that everyone is making bread. I’m not quite sure how the bread-making trend came to be, but I haven’t been able to find flour or yeast at my local grocery stores in weeks. I guess people have nothing better to do than bake, and why not, right?

Thankfully, you can make bread far more easily than you may think. In fact, you can actually make bread with two simple ingredients: self-rising flour and ice cream. I know what you’re thinking – ice cream? But I promise you, it actually makes sense and it’s actually delicious!

Taste of Home has the explanation – although it may sound weird to make bread with ice cream, you have to think about what ice cream is made from: cream, sugar, and eggs. And the other ingredient in this recipe is self-rising flour, which is made from flour, salt, and baking powder. So those two ingredients actually contain all of the regular ingredients needed to make bread, just in a fast-tracked version!

You can technically use any flavor of ice cream you want, but I’d stick with vanilla for the most traditional bread taste. This recipe is so simple, the prep and baking time take a total of 30 minutes. And you’ll be left with warm, fluffy, and delicious bread! Click here for the recipe from Taste of Home. I foresee a lot of bread making in my future…!
