How To Make DIY Fairy Lanterns Using Mason Jars
Children have such wonderful imaginations, and it’s up to us, as parents, to foster their imaginations. I want my children to feel creative and carefree for as long as possible – and this means indulging their belief in gnomes, fairies, mermaids, and other mythical creatures. That’s why as soon as I saw the following craft idea, I knew we would be making it together as a family.
Tips & Crafts shared an awesome tutorial for making fairy lanterns using mason jars. All you need for this cute yet simple project is glass mason jars, some glow-in-the-dark acrylic paint, and a paintbrush. You can use any old glass jars – so long as the labels have been completely removed.
All you have to do is paint the inside of the jars in whatever designs you choose. You can do some simple dots, or get creative and paint tiny stars and swirls. Feeling especially artsy? Paint a silhouette of a little fairy on the inside! You can use a stencil, which would likely make things easier. When the paint has dried, place the jars in a sunny spot so the paint can absorb the light. When it gets dark, your jars will glow!

This is such an easy, inexpensive project, but one that your kids will love. Line your outdoor walkways with the jars, and your kids will love to pretend there are tiny little fairies dancing around inside. Thanks for this easy yet clever idea, Tips & Crafts! I already know my kids will love it. Plus, it’s a good way to light up our back steps at night!
