9 Ways To Naturally Rid Spiders From A Home

Spiders are one of the most unpleasant things we can find in our homes. Even though they don’t do a whole lot to bother us, I’m guessing that you’d rather not see a spider scurrying on by when you’re trying to watch TV. If you want to get spiders out of your home without using harsh chemicals, just try these simple and natural methods instead.
1. Cinnamon
Many pests, including spiders, are completely put off by cinnamon. You can sprinkle some around your baseboards, in corners, and any other places where you’ve noticed spiders before.
2. Distilled Vinegar
Distilled vinegar can honestly be used for anything. Mix together equal parts water and vinegar in a spray bottle, then mist the solution over baseboards, along floorboards, and in any cracks and corners.
3. Turmeric
Turmeric is a very strong spice and spiders absolutely hate it. Mix together a few teaspoons of turmeric and water to form a paste, then dip cotton balls or little pieces of rags in the paste. If you place them around your home, spiders will stay away! Just make sure the turmeric paste doesn’t come directly into contact with any surfaces, as it will stain.
4. Mint Essential Oil
Spiders hate the strong smell of mint. Just apply a few drops of mint essential oil to some cotton balls, then place them throughout any areas you’ve noticed spiders lurking in before.
5. Citrus Peels
Another thing spiders can’t stand? Citrus. You can take citrus peels (orange is generally the best) and gently rub them along cracks and in corners. You can also leave citrus peels sitting on windowsills, etc. as an extra precaution.
6. Coconut Oil
Just when you thought you couldn’t love coconut oil any more! Mix together one part coconut oil with two parts water in a spray bottle. Mist any spider-prone areas. As a bonus, your home with smell amazing!
7. Peppermint Essential Oil And Dish Soap
Many people absolutely swear by this method. Just mix together some peppermint essential oil, liquid dish soap, and water in a spray bottle. Spritz the solution in any spider-prone areas and they will be sure to steer clear.
8. Cedar Mulch
Spiders (and other pests) hate cedar. You can scatter cedar mulch in your garden and around the edge of your home to deter spiders from making their way inside.
9. Saltwater Solution
If you happen to stumble upon a spiderweb or nest, spray a solution of salt and water directly onto it. This will take care of the situation in a pinch.
