Nothing can set your day off track like a clogged drain. Whether it be your sink, toilet, or shower, clogged drains aren’t fun to deal with. But before you go about using harsh chemicals to tackle the problem (or call a plumber), try these safer, more natural methods instead.

1. Liquid Dish Soap

Liquid dish soap is great for cutting away grease, and it’s also great for getting rid of blockages. Pour some liquid dish soap down whatever drain you’re looking to unclog, then flush it down the pipes with a bucket of hot water.

2. Plunger

Sometimes, a little bit of physical labor is all you need to combat a blocked drain. Plungers aren’t just good for toilets, people!

3. Salt

Because of salt’s coarse texture, it’s a great natural product for unclogging a drain. Just pour some salt down the drain, then follow it with some hot water.

4. Vinegar And Baking Soda

This trick works best for kitchen sinks, where buildups of food, grease, and fat are more common to occur. Pour one half cup of baking soda and one half cup of vinegar (in this order) down your drain. Follow by pouring some boiling water down the drain.
