Man Builds Cabin Getaway Entirely Out Of Wood Pallets
In today’s world, we always feel like we need to have the most and the best of everything. But one Ellaville, Georgia-based man is proving that thought completely wrong. He decided to build a cabin and attached porch/hangout area made entirely from wood pallets and other forms of reclaimed wood. “I love antiques, cooking outdoors, gardening, wood working, and repurposing junk,” he said. “My goal is to become self sufficient on my 25-acre ponderosa. Live simple… enjoy life.” Sounds pretty good to me – let’s take a look at the process of building his cabin retreat!
When you see the finished cabin, you’ll find it hard to believe that the structure started out looking like this.
Fortunately, wood pallets are very inexpensive and can often be found on the side of the road for free.
Before too long, the main cabin structure began taking shape.
A little overhang was then added.
Now it’s looking like an actual cabin!
Dog-friendly and dog-approved!
So darn cute!
A wooden platform was added off the side of the cabin for indoor-outdoor living space.
Is this picture-perfect, or what?!
He even installed a wood-burning stove inside for chilly days and nights.
Both the inside and outside turned out perfectly, if I do say so myself.
You can find even more photos of the building process here. This project just goes to show that you can build something truly amazing, even if you aren’t working with a ton of financial resources. All you need is a vision, some hard work, and to stay motivated throughout the project! I think our backyard could definitely use a cute and cozy little cabin hideaway like this one!
