How To Make Your Own Carpet Shampoo Solution

Most of us have a weekly cleaning routine that looks something like this: vacuum the floors, clean the washrooms, wash bedding, dust. And although these are all important tasks, every once in a while, you need to get a little more thorough with your household chores. One such example? Cleaning (and I mean really cleaning) your carpets!

To make your own carpet shampoo solution, you will need:

1 cup of OxiClean
1 cup of Febreeze
1 cup of distilled vinegar

Directions:

Step 1: Pour the ingredients into the shampooer tank and mix with hot water until the tank is completely full.

Step 2: Run the shampooer attachment over all areas of your carpets.

This solution will not only clean your carpets, but it will also deodorize them. Your carpets will smell slightly of vinegar until they completely dry.

This solution should be safe for all carpets. However, you should always test a small, inconspicuous spot on your carpet before using this solution on the whole thing.

If you don’t have a carpet shampooer, you can simply rent one.
