Black Christmas Trees Are The Biggest Holiday Decorating Trend This Year

When you think of a Christmas tree, you probably think of an evergreen variety that smells like fresh pine. Or maybe, you’re more of an artificial tree person, so you have the green tree but without the fresh evergreen smell. Regardless, I think it’s safe to assume that traditionally, most people have green Christmas trees. However, the biggest decorating trend for this holiday season is actually black Christmas trees.
It’s not entirely clear how the trend of black Christmas trees started, but design influencers on Instagram can likely take credit. There are thousands of photos of black Christmas trees circulating online, and they’re actually quite beautiful! The trend of black Christmas trees likely originated because they’re more neutral, meaning they go with more people’s preexisting decor. The lights on black Christmas trees also pop in a way that they don’t on traditional evergreen trees.
Although black Christmas trees may not be for everyone, I think it’s great that people are experimenting with different decor trends, and are choosing to decorate in a way that feels personal to them.
