11+ Unexpected Uses For Vaseline Around The House

Vaseline was designed to soothe dry, chapped skin and lips. And while you can certainly use Vaseline for both of these things, there are also lots of other, unexpected uses for this popular product. Here they are!
1. Unstick A Zipper
To help free a stuck zipper, apply a small amount of Vaseline to the teeth around the zipper.
2. Preserve Nail Polish
To prevent nail polish from drying and sticking to the top of the bottle, apply some Vaseline around the top before fastening the lid.
3. Mess-Free Mani
Speaking of Vaseline and nail polish, to prevent polish from getting all over your fingers, apply some Vaseline to the skin around your nails before painting them.
4. Shine Leather
To shine and moisturize your leather shoes, bags, etc., some Vaseline and a soft cloth will do the trick.
5. Remove Makeup Stains
If your clothes or towels are covered in makeup stains, apply some Vaseline to a damp cloth and use it to wipe at the stain.
6. Repair Scratched Disks
If you have CDs or DVDs that are scratched, carefully rub a small amount of Vaseline over the scratch, then use a soft cloth to wipe off any excess.
7. Preserve Your Pumpkins
When you carve your pumpkins near Halloween, coat the insides in Vaseline to help preserve them longer.
8. Remove Makeup
Run out of makeup remover? Vaseline and a cotton pad or face cloth will work just as well!
9. DIY Lip Scrub
To exfoliate your lips, make a DIY lip scrub using Vaseline and raw brown sugar.
10. Preserve Perfume
To make the smell of your perfume last longer, apply a small amount of Vaseline to your wrists and/or neck before spritzing on your scent.
11. Stop Split Ends
If your hair is feeling dry and you notice some split ends in between hair appointments, rub some Vaseline on the bottom of your strands.
12. Protect From Paint
Rub some Vaseline across doorknobs and hinges to prevent them from getting covered in paint.
