How To Properly Apply Makeup: What To Do And What To Avoid

If you’re not very comfortable with doing makeup, you probably try to avoid it. After all, it’s easier to go barefaced than to risk looking like a clown. However, you don’t need to be afraid of doing your makeup. Just keep these simple tips in mind, and you’ll be able to apply your makeup with confidence.
1. Find The Right Shade
Wearing a too-light or too-dark foundation shade will instantly ruin a makeup look. To find your perfect concealer shade, go to a makeup store and ask one of the employees to color match you for foundation.
2. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize

If you don’t apply moisturizer before putting on foundation, your makeup will end up looking flaky and patchy. For a smooth foundation look, never skip the moisturizer.
3. Use A Makeup Sponge

Another tip to remember when it comes to foundation application is that you should always use a makeup sponge or Beauty Blender as opposed to your finger. This will make your foundation go on as smooth as possible.
4. Use Blush Sparingly

When you’re just starting to become comfortable with blush, use it sparingly. Applying too much blush is a sure way to turn your makeup look into clown status.
5. It’s All About The Neutrals

When it comes to eyeshadow and lipstick, opt for neutrals until you gain more experience. You can never go wrong with a neutral-colored makeup look.
