Renters definitely face their fair share of design and decor challenges that homeowners aren’t subjected to. After all, it’s a rental — so you’re pretty limited regarding what you can change in a space. However, renters everywhere could take a lesson or two from blogger Tonya Payne of Hey Tonya. She totally transformed a rental laundry room using only dollar store items, and the end result is pretty spectacular.
Before transforming your own laundry room, here are a few simple tips Tonya gives to make the project more successful. She recommends using one single color to give the space a cohesive look. She also suggests using wire shelving, and to use hook-and-loop baskets or bins to secure to the shelves.
Tonya also explains that you should try and use every inch of wall space available to you. Even though her laundry room is only a double-wide closet that stores a washing machine and dryer, she manages to store cleaners, laundry products, and more in a neat, organized way. Another important tip? Make the space into some place you’d actually want to spend time in! Don’t skip out on those personal details that make a space feel like your own.
