There’s nothing like teamwork and a shared vision when it comes to designing your dream home. The story we’re about to share with you today is about a mother-daughter duo who designed a beautiful, rustic-chic tiny home with only 406 square feet to work with.

Arkansas residents Lauren Sivewright and her mom wanted to create a light and bright design to maximize the feel of their little cottage retreat. The charming cottage in the woods features a galley-style kitchen, a living room space, a little office nook, a canopy bed separated from the main space by privacy curtains, and even a washroom with a double vanity.

Lauren and her mom got creative when it came to storage solutions and furniture layout, which resulted in their cottage appearing far bigger than it actually is. They even managed to squeeze in a small dining set, electric fireplace, and laundry. There’s also a pullout bed underneath the main bed to provide extra sleeping space for guests.

What’s most impressive is how Lauren and her mom managed to fit full-size appliances (including a dishwasher!) into the kitchen design. The floor-to-ceiling shelves offer lots of storage space, and the beadboard details give the room a country-chic vibe. All in all, this cozy cabin turned out wonderfully. Props to Lauren and her mom for their ingenuity in this lovely little retreat!
